Dam Prayers.

Posted in Uncategorized by christinaheaston on January 26, 2010

Somedays I don’t believe in prayer at all and somedays it’s just empty words. But somedays, the best days-the most beautiful days are the ones when prayer is not a conscious act but it becomes a part of me. It becomes a constant state of  loving and yearning and seeking and sometimes grieving but somehow still trusting.
It’s just so bizarre and incredible and strange and lovely.

It’s finding God in the ordinary-in the everyday details of life. In my cup of hot rooibos tea and in my best friend’s laugh. I find Him in my favorite song or driving across the dam. In Saturday afternoons and every single sunset. In meeting someone who understands me or finishing a really good book. In traveling with close friends or looking a stranger in the eyes. In walking outside barefoot or smiling for no reason. In midnight conversations out on the dock or  just being still and not saying anything at all.

He is in the beautiful that I experience everyday. He is in the now.
